Art Department

Lutheran High School of Hawaii offers a comprehensive art curriculum that begins with Basic Art, which serves as an introduction to common media and art vocabulary, and continues through three full-year electives.  An alternate fourth year course of AP Studio Art may be offered to selected students.  Basic Art is a graduation requirement.  Other courses offered are:  Drawing & Painting, 2-D Design, and Studio Art.  All elective courses are designed in a laboratory format with weekly sketchbook submissions used to augment in-class produced artwork.  Approximately 22% of all LHS graduates have been accepted into a variety of art schools including:

California College of the Arts

Cornish College of the Arts

Otis College of Art & Design

Pratt School of Art & Design

Rhode Island School of Design

University of Hawaii
