Student Publications

Lutheran High takes pride in its publications, both for their quality and for the level of student participation.

The Lion Print

Lion Print is our school newspaper. You must be enrolled in the journalism class to participate. The Lion Print has received national recognition from Quill and Scroll and the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. It has also won several state and district awards from the Hawaii Schools Publications Association and the Nissan Journalism Scholarship program in the areas of newswriting, features, editorials, and photography.

Ka Liona

Ka Liona is our yearbook. You must be enrolled in the yearbook class to participate. The staff is responsible for a "record," in photos and verse, of the school year. Several volumes have garnered prestigious state and national awards (1st Place Photo from the Hawaii Schools Publications Association, 1st Place Photo from the Hawaii Newspaper Agency, Best Overall Photography from the Hawaii State Yearbook competition, 1st Place Overall from the American Scholastic Press Association). Therefore, each year's staff is hard-pressed to "outdo" the "creation" of the previous year.

Impressions is our end-of-the-year publication of student writing and art. This literary/art magazine is a joint product of English and Art classes. It features creative writing (short stories, poetry, essays) and artwork from the student body. Publication and distribution is usually towards the end of May.
